Prosperous fools

I’m a man of modest means to say the least. But wait a damn minute. That doesn’t mean I’m jealous of rich people. I was once, but not anymore. And no longer do I group all the rich into one personality type. Just like any class of people, some are cool while others can be maximum capacity bozo prophets.

In any case, because the wealthy have more, we expect more from them. In taxes, charity, and hospitality. Or at the very least, good sense. But in this darling country, we mistakenly equate a lofty social standing with superior character. But we’re sadly mistaken. So. We’re repeatedly disappointed by the fluffy facade and standoffish politics of ‘the elite.’ In a word, many of those well-off wankers are weirdos.

If you live in a big city for example, just look around. The young, dumb, and rich nearly run you over as they race the streets in their sporty cars without a care in the world. And if they do kill you, their parents can bribe a judge or use their influence to keep the brats out of jail. Meanwhile, the newly rich, also take to the roadways, flashing their newly acquired luxury vehicles. You can hear them two blocks away, their radios blasting that noisy violence they believe is music, while they carelessly speed through stop signs and red lights sometimes killing people. Usually, our grandparents or children. But happily, that category of offenders will be prosecuted. So, even in the world of the wealthy there are varied degrees of privilege.

Examine the pampered women of old money walking the streets with the trembling heads of their stupid little genetically engineered dogs poking out of expensive bags slung across their shoulders. Do they really think their dogs are something so breathlessly precious that they are worthy of eager fawning from the rest of us? How out of touch are these people? Then take a look at the women of modest means in the inner city, who feel comparatively ugly and so absolutely insist on owning these same animals so that they can be considered as cheerful and carefree as their social masters who live far away from them on a well-protected hill. This while they themselves live in a slum where their constantly barking GMO dogs are keeping their sickly, weary, underserved, and anxious neighbors awake at night when all they want is to get some sleep because they have to go to work in the morning, so they can pay their exorbitant rents.

Apparently, this world is not always balanced and fair. And though they are well able to, the wealthy do nothing to remedy the situation. They only vote and lobby to ensure everything remains discriminatory and uneven. Yet the underclasses are scrambling to join the ranks of these bozos as they carry on their gaudy displays, hollow of reason as they are.

Observe the prosperous fools. They relish in shape-shifting comforts on an island all to themselves. A structure central to socio-economic turmoil as maintained and heightened by their own excesses. They have to know that a flood of humanity is sweeping pass their gates, eager to topple this edifice. Only a fool of the highest order would consider this structure impervious to ruin. It’s already been judged and convicted by history, built as it is on over-indulgence, arrogance, pride, ignorance, caprice and immorality. These anti-principles are like termites eating away at the very foundation of their system. It’s only a matter of time now.

There is much more to be said about the unhealthy posture of the wealthy. Study it for yourself. But I’ll end with this: beware of the paranoia and insecurity of prosperous fools. Like the biblical Satan, they know they have only a short time.
