I’m Ninazu Shakur. Over twenty years ago, I received a mental health diagnosis. Freedom from its consequences required some leg work. One riddled with challenges, along with personal triumphs, both sobering and rapturous. Today, I’m an enthusiastic and purposeful member of society.
In the United States alone there are millions of people who have ‘been there’ like me. So, any honest advice we may give others is well-informed. And should be viewed as important. Considering the numbers, there’s enough of this tested knowledge to go around.
Basically, this site is for anyone reaching for optimal mental health. My primary goal is to offer an encouraging view of the potential in all of us without pouring it on too thick. Another thing. You will not encounter clinical or medical advice here. And you won’t uncover gobs of numbers and statistics. What you will find is unassuming: the sagacity of the average social creature seeking and offering inspiration.
So, if you asked me to point to the one thing that truly works, I would say that it’s optimism. Naturally, it’s a force for positive change, enlightenment, and empowerment. And it’s its own reward when practiced with enthusiasm.
At mentalhealthmint, you’ll find short stories pointing out the need for optimism in everyday life. See for yourself. Moments typically starting out as harmless can make an abrupt turn and challenge our peace of mind. Even our character. They are little forks in the road. Apparently, we can rise to the challenge or squander opportunities. But armed with an inclination to anticipate the best possible outcome of actions the world is yours! Read on.
